What's this thing worth??

This car has been sitting in the driveway of a older gentelman for several years now. I was going to see if he wanted to sell it but I'd like to get an idea of what to offer. It's Black w/ red int. it has a console/auto, pony seats, rusty quarters...but not as bad as you'd think for sitting out all this time. Any input appreciated!

try to find out what motor it has. $4,000 seems like a good offer, hopefully the guy doesn't watch the Barret Jackson auctions like all the Camaro guys.

I think codeman94 is probably right +/- a $1,000. Coupes don't fetch as much as fastbacks just the way of things.

From the look I'd say she's a one of the various 6cyl which isn't what folks want from classic Ponies, though they tend to get pulled and a crate 302 falls in its place. Still, she looks to be in good shape overall, though the turn signals up front need repair and who knows what rust monsters lurk within... as it were.

looks like a 6 cyl because didn't all the V8s have the v8 badge on the fender?

but i would say around $4000 If he was actually selling. But if he really likes the car 4000 might be too low for him to part with it.

see what they are going for on ebay. Alltho from what I have seen on ebay cars usally sell for a little less than I would think they are worth.
Another place I usally check is

easily worth 4 grand from what iv`e seen people ask for stuff near me.. barrett jackson is killing all of us.. i didnt care for the palm beach auction with him yelling at every bidder ( you`re getting that one too cheap ) that`s the whole idea behind going to an auction ..

True, but some folks do have those badges removed.

If I can take a shot here, assuming it's a six cylinder I would say a range of $4000 to $10,000 depending on the degree of underlying corrosion. To have floors and trunk rust repairs made professionally can run as high as $15,000 (worse case scenario).

A few other factors would play in such as interior and any other options that might be on it. Any chance he is the original owner and has all of the original paperwork that goes with it? That helps value.

i tihnk 4k would be the lowest because it looks like its in good shape, but like ponyent said, it depends on how much rust, how many miles and things of that nature
