i kind of doubt anyone can tell you a most of us had never cut into a roof .. i tried to goolge an answer for you but to no avail .. i cant imagine it to be any thicker than most other panels on the car .. i will try and get some thickness measurements on my 69 when i get home today ..

The only way to safely know in my opinion is to start your work you need to do once you get it cult into use a set of calipers to find out the thickness you need.

everything i measured on my stang averaged about .040 .. i dont know what guage that would be .. if i were doing this i would go to my local savlage yard and try to find some ford vehicle of about the same vintage and get some metal from it .. like maybe a piece of roof from a big ltd or perhaps a truck ..
