What wheels are on your pony??
Hey guys,
In the market for news wheels and tires for my 66 coupe straight 6 project. I have always been a fan of torque thrust rims, but I'm grappling with a few decisions. I plan on converting all drums to 5 lug discs. Firstly, how big of a tire can the car accommodate? I know the disc conversion calls for a tire of at least 15, so I was thinking either 15 or 16 inch rims? Any thoughts? Is it possible to go bigger without having to trim the wells or anything like that? I would love if you guys posted some pics of your rides or of rides that you've seen that have great wheels, so that I can get an idea of what looks good and what to avoid! Thanks guys!!!

I just finished converting my straight six to disc brakes (converted to an 8" rear axle last year), and I decided to go with "MB Old School" wheels with BF Goodrich RWL tires.
Rims are 15x7" and the tires are 215/60R15 all around (I probably would have gone with a 65 or 70 sidewall if I were ordering them again- at least on the rears to fill in the well a bit better).
Since these pics, I've changed the center caps out to a billet-style with the tri-bar pony emblem... I like em a lot, and they weren't all that expensive ($1,100 for wheels/tires complete from Discount Tire after a $75 rebate).

The styled steel wheels are sweet (they were on back order from everyone when I finished my disc brake swap- or I probably would be running a set myself). Probably the first or second best wheel ever put on the Mustang from the factory (the Magnum 500s on the Hertz GTs were nice too).
torq-thrust-Ds on mine still... back in the day, ran cragar SS. bought the TT wheels in '93 when they released them, put them on a engineless car...what the heck is wrong with me ?
