I searched the forum and didnt find anything, so I thought I'd ask. I'm looking for some spring projects, and I found this "Sneeky Pete" system that is only a 50hp shot and it come with a really cool super sleek 10oz. bottle. Its just over $200. I Guess i just wondered how hard NOS would be on my motor. (289) I don't want to ruin my engine. I dont plan on using very often at all, I just think its totally sweet. And if it wont hurt anything, do you think its worh it?...one more thing. Do I have to mdify anything like compression or carb, or do I just plug and chug?

A 50 shot of nitrous will not produce a noticable difference in any v8 car. If your gonna spray go with at least a 100 shot. While any power adder does enevitably shorten the life of an engine, it really isnt as bad for the engine as alot of people make it out to be. As with anything you put on a car, read about how it works, and learn about how it works and you will be ok. If tuned properly nitrous is just fine for a car. Since you are carbed as well, you eliminate one of the major concerns efi guys have when running nitrous which is fuel fuddling in the upper intake. 99% of all nitrous related problems occur from one of three things, running too rich, running to lean, or efi guys spraying the nitrous before the throttle body, which can and sometimes does cause fuel to puddle in the upper plenum. When that fuel finally ignites, it is qiute often bye bye plenum.

Also, that 10 oz nitrous bottle probably wouldnt make it down the 1/4 mile. I think I was getting around 10 to 15 good runs out of a 10lb bottle, running a 150 shot.

cubes rule .. i have no interest in NOS, turbos, or blowers. I owned a blown car before and eventually ... problems arrise.

but who knows? curious to see what difference a 100 shot makes in your engine.
