What color black is the firewall in a 67

We are restoring a 67 fastback. I need to know if the firewall, hood hinges, horn, battery tray etc. are suppose to be gloss black or satin black.

Something like this will give you better answers than a lot of us can. Some vendors sell the right paint for things that get painted and even have paints that simulate common coatings that were used. This book should have the photos you need.

I know I'm gonna get slapped in the mouth for this, but...

If you want a really nice looking satin black, two come to mind:
Krylon BBQ & Stove Paint.
or
Duplicolor DE1635 Semi-Gloss Black Engine Enamel. (which I want to say is also called Ford Semi-Gloss Black Enamel... yes it is: http://www.duplicolor.com/products/enginePaint/)

I've worked with both and they both lay down really nice, have a nice semi-gloss/satin look to 'em, and both are pretty tough.

I used the BBQ paint in Awesome's battery area (as I'm gonna satin black out the entire thing anyway one day) due to an acid leak issue on the firewall, and it turned out *really* nice.

DE 1613 Engine Enamel Gloss black isn't bad either, but if you wanted it really glossy, you'd get some urethane paint with reactor and spray it out of a sprayer, ya ask me.

In case that helps.

I agree that unless you are trying to restore to original, go with what you like. For the engine compartment and braces I used the chassis/rollbar paint available at any parts store. It's a good tough semi gloss. My hinges are new and I did not repaint them. Horns are aftermarket so I didn't paint them. I painted my hood latch with cast iron "look" rattle can and the bracket with the chassis paint. Whatever you do, clean it well first.
