I have a 66 coupe 289. I have seen some cars with a weatherstrip on the rad support and some with out it. Is my car supposed to have one and which cars did have them?

IIRC,

The radiator support weather strip was a 6cyl thing and not used on 289 cars. Over the years, folks have added them in and effort to improve cooling and/or to cover up butchered supports.
