This is also an attractive package for $6k total:

Description:
This complete ''Signature Series'' engine and transmission package is lifted directly from the 2000 Mustang Cobra. It is ideal for high-tech street rods and custom built cars. With 315 HP @ 6000 RPM and 315 ft-lbs of torque @ 4750 RPM, this engine and transmission combination is more than enough to get your ride on the road. The assembly includes the complete engine from the dual 57mm throttle body to the oil pan, the 5-speed transmission, EEC-V computer, wiring and air inlet system components. Calibration code 0G-839-AA. Premium fuel required.

Could add a Vortech or KB to it and really melt those tires...

AND could that Cobra gauge cluster be integrated into the stock dash with some fiberglassing and metal work of the dash area?

probably, but you could get the same kind of look with the JME guage bezel only a little more classic looking

Sorry Mav, the WTG on this one is to put the power out of site ... no need to go above the hood anymore. I could see your powerplant in a future "throwback" build though

i think we should do an injected stroker cleveland. using the 5.0 style injection system, or even a 5.0 with aussie cleveland heads, sort of a boss 302 style motor but with late model injection, price motorsports makes intake adapters for either conversion. i've always wanted to do a "boss 5.0" sort of thing, but that might be better suited to a trans am style build-up. that would be the ultimate pro-touring car in my eyes, a car that loks the part of an late 60's TA car but has modern suspension goodies and fuel injection, full comfy interior with ac and tunes and huge by large wheels and tires, but probably not bigger than 17" minilites. maybe we can do something like that for the next build?
