If I'm in the wrong thread Brad feel free to move this......I've got a 67' T-5, anyone else? I don't know much about it, other than it is somewhat rare from what I have read. But not worth much more than a regular stang. I don't know much more than that............

I'm suprised to hear that its not worth much more than I regular mustang. the T-5s were for export to Germany only from what I remember. They should be quite rare, and fairly valuable, I would think.

Pretty sure it was because they could not use the name GTA over there because someone else had it already. I would think it would bump up the price a bit too though.

the T-5 is a car that was sent to germany....they started it in 65 (in fact i know someone with a 65 covertible) and they ended it in the II years i think. they couldnt call it the "mustang" over there because there was a truck or a motorcycle called the mustang. there are little things like the streering wheel horn cap, the gas cap, and all the mustang badges and all that, that had to be taken off and ford put falcon stuff on there. i'll try to scroung some pics up of the 65 i was talkin bout. and they are VERY rare in 65 they only made like 270 of them..in all body styles. so they are a little more pricier than a regular mustang.

I have had this car for about 20 yrs, It dosen't have the word Mustang on it any where. It only the T-5 emblems. I got this car when I was 14, and drove it like it was just anyother car until I was around 20, then I wrecked it and it set for several years until I got a notion to rebuild it. That was off to a good start then I learned I was fixing to have to go thru a divorce soon...... so I put my new revived project on the back burner for awhile. So she sits in the barn again........ After the divorce and about 2 yrs the Mustang fever hit again only in the form of a New 05 GT....... and now I have a strong desire to get my 67 project back up again......... I do have the original owners manual with the address of the dealership it was sold at in Germany.............So theres alittle bit of my story........

Yes I guess it does make for interesting story.

I bought the car from a family friend that had no clue what they had for only $800.00. It was setting in a pasture field when I picked it up. I worked on her for a few years before I could actually drive it, it had some major interior issues. It originally had red interior, white exterior. The outside was still white but they painted the inside with blue spray paint from the hardware store..........
So on a very limited low budget I worked on it for the next couple of years before I got it back to the original red........ I traced down the original owner from the owners manual, His story was that he bought the car while stationed in Germany for $2200.00, he drove the car in germany, and Europe for the next three years. When he was sent backed to the states, he was High enough in the ranks that he had the car put in a shipping container and shipped to New York. He picked it up there and drove to Louisville Ky and traded it in for a 68' mustang with A/C. Not really sure where it went from there until I got from the family friends.

Theres alittle bit more of her story............

Sorry guys I don't have any pics of her. She was getting in bad shape so I started a rebuild before my divorce. And put her on the back burner until after the divorce. So when I start back on her in the late spring I'll take some pics on her comeback.

Sounds like an interesting car. That documentation is priceless. Does your car have the KPH speedometer? It's great that you spoke with the original owner to find out the car's story. Post photos when you can.

A good friend of my has 66 T5 K code coupe. The car's history is somewhat of a mystery. He does not have the original owners manual (in German) or any other original documents. He got in contact with a guy in Livermore CA who keeps a T5 registry. The guy had a website (no longer working?) and a great deal of information regarding the cars. He has a breakdown by vin on how many T5s were produced. I can try and get you his name and phone number if you like.

My friend was able to find that his was one of 6 K code T5s built that year, and it was the last one produced. He also has the original KPH speedo in the original box it came in. I guess the original owner never installed it.

In addition to the information noted in the posts above, the cars came with the heavy duty suspension.

Yes I guess it does make for an interesting story. Mine has the MPH speedometer. And it does have beefed up suspension, and no mustang emblems..... oh yea it also has some parts that Im not sure was actually for differant models, like the gas cap is a flip release , and I think I read somewhere that it was for a 69'. She also came with the full center console with the slider door.

As of right now it is stripped down completly. I have the engine out , and the interior stripped out as well. I hope to get started back on her next spring.......I'm sure I'll post pics as well as ask many questions when I start back on her......
