Just curious about supercharging a carb'd classic. Most specifically, a small block ford, which would mostly limit the topic to centrifugal blowers by Paxton. Every time I go through my list of junk that needs to happen to pull off the 5.0 EFI swap, I'm confronted with the HUGE amount of expensive things necessary to do it.
I'm not necessarily opposed to keeping my setup carb'd, I just liked the efficiency and moddability of the EFI. In light of the article in the latest M&F that shows that carbs and EECIV EFI have nearly identical power potential, I wonder if my money isn't better spent on a blower.
No only is it more affordable, but the power increase would be as much or more than I'd ever need. After an EFI swap, I'd still have hundreds of dollars worth of mods I'd want to do.
Whatcha think?

I am personally sticking with a carb there is nothing like it.... they are so much better looking expecially on a classic and easier to work on.... i am saving for a Paxton rt now for my 66 coupe i also have money set aside for my ford racing gt40 motor... but i have never even wanted to convert to fuel injection i don't really see any reason to!

Until paxton comes out with a kit that allows for cold air intake for the carb SC's then I wouldn't buy one yet. Their ad in any of the mustang magazines do not show the correct setup for the airfilter. They place the K&N filter behind the blower and above the headers. How do I know...I have a NOVI 1000 and had to modify it with vortech parts.
When I called them on it and knowing full well that I had explained to them before the purchsaed what I had and needed, I thought that it was a FR like response..."we'll have those parts available in ~ 2 months. "
M&F article was right on about having to modify the bracketry in order to make the SC fit properly.

Oh, and that pic of the mustang with the two 'chargers, if you look at the piping running from the them to the carbs, youll notice that they are very similar to clothes dryer piping. A smooth, not corrugated, pipe would make a difference, plus would look really cool in chrome, IMO.

I'm all for it. I plan on running a B.D.S. blower on my stroked 351W. Nothing looks tougher than that sticking through your hood comming down the road
I will run a dual Holley or Barry Grant carb setup. Fuel injection is a waste of money IMO.
