structural rigidity of 66 mustang

I have a plain jane 66 mustang coupe with a 2 barrel v8....yeah thats gonna change really quick

When I bought it it didnt run and needed new floor pans

My question is, because the older mustangs didnt come with tourqe boxes if It would be overkill to buy some for it and weld it in place ALONG with subframe connectors that I have already installed? Are the subframe connecters enough or should I buy tourqe boxes aswell?

Not sure what you are referring to because they do have torque boxes. Got a link?

I read the early ones didnt have them...adding couldnt hurt, I love the early mustangs but am first to admit they were a falcon that gained half a ton- older ones like my 69 anyways

theres some neat stuff at RRS-online.com, I want to order their tower notching plates, they look great/give tons of room.

Ive gotta put at least one box on my 69, I'm wondering options too...even with torque boxes, triangulating 'export braces' or 'MonteCarlo bars' or myriad other things to shore them up, they are still a little on the easy to tweak side... I left the car complete except for engine/tranny when lowering its weight onto the rotisserie, just to see if it was going to break... stronger than I thought even with substantial missing areas on the one torquebox, and rusty apron tops... would still like to stiffen it up with more than just new sheetmetal, but dont want rollbars thru the dash or stuff like that... just dont want it to tweak under the weight and torque of a bigblock...
