Steering Wheel

Anyone know how the horn button goes on this steering wheel? It fell off and won't go back on?

There should be a spring in the center and if your top ring for the horn is deformed then you may need to bend the bottom edge of the Chrome horn button in a bit so it will stay on the top horn ring. You shouldn't have to glue anything. The spring may be a bit too strong and may need to be compressed to keep from pushing off again. Hope this helps.

Ah yes, the Grant Mustanger. Terrible horn button design. I finally ditched it for a woodgrain look original design. MUCH happier, even though it cost me 4 times as much (Grant, and then that one.)

The problem with this horn button is it's supposed to sort of click on the backing plate, the fibrous stuff the horn button covers. And it wears out VERY quickly, which is why the button falls off. The button, on the inside, has a couple of ridges and that's all that hold it on.

IIRC, the ridges run to/from your face to the front of the car. You might be able to notch them with a Dremel, if the fibrous material isn't eaten away...

As the above mentioned: Hope that helps. Lemme add: Good luck!
