My Dad has an MOT garage and he did a 1968 Shelby GT500 today, the guy is thinking of selling it, how much do you think it's worth? I checked the Vin and it's a real Shelby. There are a few bits that need to be done to it, air conditioning doesn't work, oil leak, wobbly steering and the paint is not so good, here's the pictures

That's a nice find there GT500's are always worth a LOT.
i noticed the cars behind it and the liscence plates, what country is this located? This guy will be upwards of $35,000 maybe I know it will be pricey...very nice car though

earlier this year i saw one that didnt have the original engine or anything that went for over 60K. he should put it on ebay with a buy it now at around 75-80K. is it and auto or a 4 speed? if it was a 4 speed 80K would prolly be the #.

Yeah I forgot to say i'm in England, so I presume you mean dollars when you were saying those values? Here in England all Mustangs and Shelby's usually go for a lot more than the ones over there as it costs about £5k to import nowadays and obviously you have a lot more over there. I asked my Dad what the underneath was like and he said it's brilliant, no rust, apparently regarding the paint, a friend of the guy offered to paint it for him for just £1k and it wasn't a very good job, bit dry in places. The car failed the MOT so i'm not sure what he's doing about where to sell it. It's an auto.

If money is not an issue, buy it or you´ll regret it for the rest of your life.
These cars are worth a small fortune and will only increase their value over time.

Yeah I've been telling him that but he's got a Lotus Esprit that he wants to sell and he's looking at getting a Ferrari 456 as you can pick one up now for about £25k seeing as they were about £150k new, I wish I had the money for the Shelby but my 1968 Mustang Fastback is arriving soon that's taken most of my money up, perhaps for a laugh I should pay the bank a visit and see if they'll lend me £30k for it, the guy came back in today for a retest after he got some of the work done on it and it passed, not sure the full story but apparently the car used to be owned by Playboy, not sure whether he meant it actually belonged to Hugh Hefner or just the company but does anyone know of him owning one? This could put the value up a bit more.

 WHAAAAAAT!!!??? YOU GUYS CAN GET A FERRARI 456 FOR 25K POUNDS!!! Thats like 50 grand cdn, they still sell for like 180 over here. Thats ridiculous.

And about the Shelby I would be shocked if you could get it for close to $40,000 if it's original and the running gear is as good as it seems to be, but no matter what you end up with it's gonna be awesome.

PS- I'll take that pesky Lotus off your hands for you.

Yes, they are well cheap now, although there are some that are still going for about £40k you can get I think a 1995 one for around £25k if you want one, if you're interested in the Lotus I'll ask him if you want? Remember i'm in England so i'm not sure how much you'd have to pay for shipping? He wants just over £20k so I think that's about 40k dollars isn't it? Here's a picture of it near my house.

 I was just joking about the Lotus, I wish i could buy it, but i'm only 18 and can barely afford the car i have, but holy heck that thing is gorgeous. That is seriously one of the nicest ones I have ever seen. It'd be a tough call between that and a 456, but i think i'd take the Lotus. And in case you didn't know it, you are one lucky guy to have all these Lotus', Ferraris, and Shelbys around.

My Dad doesn't own it, he did the MOT on it, if he did I doubt very much he'd sell it for that amount. I'm tempted to buy it and do the necessary work and sell it for a profit but knowing me once I got it I wouldn't want to get rid of it and I'm not sure I can handle all that debt.
