Shaker for a ´68

Hi there I´m kinda new to this forum, coming from far away, Iceland to be exact.

Anyway... I was thinking about adding a Shaker to my ´68 Fastback. Can I use the same Shaker/Base as they use on ´69 and ´70 Cars.

The engine is a 302 and is pretty much standard. What about the deck height, do I have to use a space on the carb, which is a 4 barrel Holley?

Another thing, where is the best place to buy these Shakers? As a set I mean.

Welcome to the forum! I would guess you are the first from Iceland on here, and that you have one of very few 68 Fastbacks over there. As for the shaker, I would have to assume that a 302 is a 302... Meaning anything is interchangable. I wish you luck on your search. The only 68's that I know of with the shaker was the big 428's. Should look great all said and done.

The Mustang shaker was not offered until 1969, it is a whole different car. I believe from the lid on up was the same, just the base is different for different engines. The Torino shakers are different because they come to a point in the front.

Mustang shakers are very expensive. Last I knew they we're getting $1500 us and up for them. That was a few years ago. I have seen someone making a fiberglass top (the scoop part). That may be a more affordable way to go. You may just have to buy what ever you find and make a spacer or trim the base as needed.

Thanks! Yes we only have 3 1968 Fastbacks here, and all 3 are up and running and 4 ´67 fastbacks, all down and not running!

I´ve been thinking about installing a shaker since I bought the car. I recently discovered that the Torino Shakers are very cool. What do you guys think... should I install one instead of the Mustang shaker?

I know I have to do some changes but does anyone know if this has been done before?
