I bet that a lot of that will buff right out...

Looks ok, its a rebuilder, has a good base and it is not as bd as if it were here in the great white north. Sounds like it will be a good project

You should head up there and check it out. I've spent way to much time at the old shop and now the new one. The new one will make you drop your jaw on the floor. I lost count of how many cars they can store inside it with all the other parts they have in there as well.

If you want to come by, I'll be happy to show you around. It's no Boyd Coddington shop...We actually work here ....so sometimes things are a mess. I am also working on getting the showroom together and we have some other areas to finish building out. B)

Good, because Boyd Coddington stinks. I can't believe how he reacted when Charlie left.

Yes he does....I can't believe how those idiots replaced the quarter panel on that 65 GT Fastback...straight up from the center of the rear wheel, what a bunch of morons!

Boyd treats others poorly, expects them to jump and work all hours of the night because HE made a promise he shouldn't have. His painter left for Chip Foose...serves him right, treat your employees like crap and they WILL find a new home

I'm with you guys on that. I love watching American Hot Rod. But I can't stand the way he makes such unrealistic deadlines for his guys. I wouldn't be surprised to see more guys walk out on him as the show progresses. I bet that's why he and Foose had a parting of ways too.

I think Chip is truely the better builder with two "Riddler" wins, and he has a cooler show.

True, being "in the business" I tend to pick apart these shows.....I wouldn't send Osama Bin Laden's car to West Coast Customs after watching them pop rivet aluminum over rust holes and pile the Marglass over it! Boyd Coddington speaks for himself....an overbearing know it all that is a slave driver and has no respect for his employees or their families. If my painter needs to take his son to the doctor...he goes! Boyd also never picks up a screwdriver...he rides the desk and promises the world.

What I like about Chip Foose is that he DOES work on the cars...I wish I had 1/100th of his artistic talent....I can visualize anything but don't have the talent to put it to paper like he does. I also watch as they replace rust with metal....everything is done right from what I have seen when he does a car and THAT is what it's all about.....not stuffing mud into holes just to make something look good for a few weeks.

I think in the end the American Hot Rod show will only hurt Boyd and after watching just a few of those shows I feel it would be no loss if he disappeared.

I agree, Paul. I remember back in the 80's/90's when I first saw Boyd's "work". I thought he was the greatest builder ever. Now that I see how he operates I could care less if he went belly up (again). Charley was a classy fella who actually cared about the quality of his product. IIRC, he and his wife were seperated BECAUSE of the hours he was having to put in at Coddington's. The way Boyd treated him when he left was a real testiment to the kind of person he (Boyd) is........a selfish, money grubbing SOB.

I would LOVE to have Foose work on my car. If Boyd got within 10 yards of my car I would set his beard on fire.

I was working 3rd shift for some time so I didn't get a chance to see that Mustang restoration. Last restoration I saw was 56 Chevy and now they're working on Corvette.

Nice shop ya got there, Paul.

From looking at that heap, you must be a stinker for a project.
....Both the '67s will be Restomods.....mine will get a 351 stroked to 427 with EFI and a 5 speed(unless a future budget indicates I can opt for a 6 speed)...[/b][/quote]
and to think i was just going to suggest that! nice find. $80, thats great. hope to see this pony returned to glory!

I'd like my '69 Mach1 project to be the next victim of "overhaulin".......i'll leave the garage door unlock to make it easier for them to take it out of the garage, and don't worry, i'll just pretend that i'm so sad that my car got stolen....

SVO--It is interesting to hear you comment on Foose's drawing talent. I like his cars, but when he puts them on paper at first, I don't like them. However, when the smoke clears, I usually do!

(This is said by a man who can't draw a stick man with a smiley face.)

I don't know if I'd like to have Foose work on my car--I do know, however, that I'd like to have the money that it would TAKE to have Foose work on my car!

On that money idea, any one have any idea of what a "middle of the road" Foose car costs? (Not his top end stuff, but not the bottom end, either.)

I'm curious.
