I want to replace my stock bulb lights with halogen lights.
Do you guys have any suggestions on which lights are best?

Thanks

I think the difference is negligable in bulb brands, but you might need to update your switch and fuses maybe even alternator as they will draw more power than stock bulbs.

The best "low buck" upgrade is to get a new housing setup from somewhere like eBay and then throw some Sylvania Silverstar bulbs in there, that's what I currently have on my car. For reference they look like this:

And can be had for around $16 on eBay now.

I will be doing a Xenon conversion at some point this year since I have really adjusted to the factory setup on my Z.

I was thinking of these Hella Lights. http://www.hella.com/produktion/HellaPorta...Vision_Plus.jsp I have Hella fog lights on my jeep and like them a lot.
With these lights will I have to upgrade my electrical system?

Thank you

Those are the same thing at a much higher price... I actually have the Hella's on my car with the Silverstar bulbs.

-----

Edit: I should say the eBay setup is similar to the Hella in design, I did not take the time to read if they have glass or plastic lenses, that would be a difference. Also, the prices on all these have dropped a lot.

Heck, make me an offer on my Hella setup with Silverstars... maybe I'll just sell them complete to you and change mine out to Xenon. You might have to wait a month or two for delivery though... other projects...

Did you have to upgrade your wiring for these lights? Would it be ok to take power directly from the battery and use the stock wiring to trip relays for high and low beams? I am going away for school, and I wont be back until the end of February anyway. I wont have the internet though. I am interested in purchasing the lights from you. I would like to keep this little project fairly inexpensive as the car still needs a bit of work to be ready for the summer. How is $75.00 for the lights? I live in central Mass, where do you live Jay?

Thanks

Not a bad deal. I won't be pulling them for awhile though due to other projects. Followup with me in February.

BTW what school in this day and age does not have Web access?

I am on the training ship for Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Once we are underway we will no longer have internet access. We are scheduled to leave this Saturday. I am a freshman so this will be my first “cruseâ€. The ship is still fairly new to the school; I think we will have internet access next year while we are underway.

Those are called "city lights" it's more of a parking light. It originated in kit cars/hot rods/foreign cars as the turn signal indicator. But you won't get through safety inspections if you have 'em with those. I sold an extra set to Nixon a long time ago, not sure how it turned out for him.

It will just light up the housing to make it appear blue... won't affect the actual beam of light.
