My Mach1 came equipped with factory power steering, but listening to people in the field, they seem to think that manual is the way to go......since Ford steering pumps were known to be leaky, i'm wondering what should i do.....supposely you get a better and sportier driving too with a manual....thanks for any info....

Manual is better, it's taken me 3 months to track down all my leaks and eliminating them. Had to replace all 4 hoses, the power cylinder and the pump. Still dribbles a very small amount around the pulley shaft but that can't be stopped.
Will make it harder to steer if you go with some bigger tires.

All you need is an adapter that Mustangs Plus and a few other vendors sell.

Easy swap. Take all that old power robbing crap off and install the new part and done. I wish I could remember the name of it though...

With manual steering make sure you keep your tire air pressure up. If it starts to get low you'll know right away from the increased effort in turning, especially when you stopped or moving slow.
