whats the big idea with those braces in the engine bay....never seen those before......a convertable thing?

You know what....I don't know, but I have seen them in other convertibles. They were there when I purchased the car.

I would guess they are to help strengthen the rigidity lost in making the car a convertible. Cougars also had bracing in the engine bay, even in the 289s I think.
