hey guys i have finally have some pics of my car for all to see. these pics are of the car at the body shop after they painted it. it still needs to be wet-sanded and buffed and then reassembled but it it's finally starting to look a classic stang. i've had the car for over 20 years and this is the first time it will not be primered in the entire time i've owned it. i will get more pics once they are done with the reassembly phase. i will still have to put all the chrome. lights, bumpers etc back on once the car comes home. just so y'all know the car will be getting a new black vinyl top around income tax time, so that's the reason for the roof not being completely painted since it was about 200 bucks cheaper for them not to paint the whole thing. well enough talking, time for some pics. what do y'all think?

Looking good bud, exciting isn't it? I like the Boss style paint scheme you are going with. As we have discussed before I think I'm going with the blacked out tail panel too, especially after seeing it on your car. I'm on the fence about the headlight buckets though so far, can't decide.

thanks guys, it is very exciting since this is the first paint job on the car since i got in 1984, it was a very faded Earl Scheib black jade when i got it, the original color was lime gold , the car had been repainted by the original owner to cover up a small daytona strip on the drivers side, before she gave the car to her little sister, which is who i bought the car from. when i got it the paint was so oxidized and faded it looked almost flat black. it was n't long after that it was primered and it has stayed in various shades of primier until now.

Cloney, yes that is acapulco blue and it will have a black vinyl top, and a black GT stripe and the wheels will get redone with the polished rims and silver centers, just like they are now but better looking.

Pak, how are things going with your car? have you decided for sure what you're going to do ?

Blake, all of the emblems on the side an trunk will be shaved the only emblems it will have will be the pony on the grille (i may do away with that one too, not sure yet) and the GT emblem on the gas cap and the GT wheels i have that will probably only be on the car at shows or until i can get the centers put into a 15x8 rim, which will probably be a while since i'm about tapped out right now. actually one of the guys on the VMF was kind enough to give me a bare set of GT wheels for nothing but the cost of shipping them to me, which was really nice of him.

Yeah I kept it and took the smaller check. I've started to remove all the trim and chrome and then I have to gut the interior so the body work can begin. I still don't know what I am going to do about the quarter though, sigh. A skin just isn't going to cut it unless I want to live with a bunch of ugly welds showing on the now crushed door jam. I am cringing at spending a grand on an NOS coupe quarter that won't even fit without modifications, but I don't really seem to have many options at my disposable, and solutions like this are going to have me spending out of pocket cash before I even get half way through it.
