New owner needs advice....
Hi
Although I am getting on a bit and have owned many classic cars in the UK, I have just bought a 72 Mustang Convertible to keep and use when we are in the States.
Looking at original pictures of similar cars it seems that when the top is folded down it is neatly covered.
Now in the UK we would call that a soft top cover...what is the correct terminology in the States so I can start searching for one, since it is missing in my car.
Thanks.

You need a convertible top boot.
Thanks for the welcome.
I'm sure I will need advice as time goes by.
I am actually still in the UK and return to the States at the beginning of September.
That's when I collect the Mustang which I first saw in April.
I live in South Texas when we are over there and have been driving F 150's for some time. When I bought my 2004 Lariat earlier this year I mentioned to the owner of the dealership that I fancied something classic and he mentioned that he collected Mustangs.
He showed them to me including a concours winner which is one of only 10 to that spec.
He then offered to sell me one of his collection on the condition that if ever I sold it he would have first refusal!!
I don't think he would have said that had it been a bad one.
In fact he just E mailed me to say that he has fitted a new white convertible top, and asked his mechanics to go right through the car and change all hoses and fluids. Even more...he asked them to attend to any stone chips etc. then said..."What the heck...give it a proper respray" (All this in the original price!)
It's an original 72 with the 351 Cobra Jet V8 and most of the available options, finished in medium bright yellow.
Can't wait to get back and use it !
