Keep up the good work bro... As for me I'm still a year away from fitting an exhaust. And yes mines a 68. I had to put my project on hold for a couple of weeks. I just finished outfitting my garage with new lights, utility plugs, and air compressor lines. Now I'm gonna install the new heidts 4 link in the rear. You can see my entire build on my thread. I got lots of pics. Can you post some pics of how you got that exhaust to work? Do you still have the original rear suspension in the car?

ill try and get some more pics up later, and yes for now, while im figuring out all the body mods. It will get a 4 link like heidts, i found an identical setup for 800 shipped. But thats good, you cant get anything done unless you have the means to do it

It's hard to see in the pics but I fabbed up a 4 in spacer to lift the tank 4 inches, so it would usually hang down to the bottom of the rear valance but now it sits mostly in the trunk allowing for that 4 inches to be taken up by the center exhaust tip, when I run the tubing to the tip I think it's going to be somewhat visible from the back of the car but hopefully when I slam the 4 link in there and drop it 1.5-2" it will conceal it mostly. This is definitely not for people who plan on using the trunk hahaha, I couldnt fit a full size spare in there before even if I wanted though

Custom hood

So I think I landed another great idea, ive been searching for a scoop I really like and i want to stick with a solid steel car and when i found this one I knew it was it. I know it is quite a weird car to take it from, i know "datsun" hahaha but i already ordered it and plan on fitting and welding down the road, hopefully this doesnt start to much controversy, i know you concours guys hate this car already

Looking at your build, I have no doubt you'll make it work. That's the essence of hotrod. Keep up the good work bud!

Yup I'm all about customs, the only thing I'm contemplating is using the hood that surrounds the scoop on the datsun hood to create a bubbled look on my hood. The hood won't be in for a few weeks so I won't be able to figure it out until then. Just need to do some brain storming with the pics

I would just cut out the scoop and and contour it to your existing hood. Keep it looking dark stealth mode from hell. Lol how much does that dutsan hood cost?

I like how the hoodscoop extends out from the back of the hood to the front. It'll make the front end of your stang look longer. Can't wait to see what it looks like. If you wanna see a 68 fastback Frankenstein build, check out my build. I like the way your headed with your car. Your inspiring me!

thanks guys, well i actually think the hood will make the front end look shorter because there will be more going on with the hood. im welding my cowl vents shut so ive also been considering starting the scoop back on the cowl and then continue onto the hood if you understand what i mean. so i would cut the back 4-5 inches of the scoop off and weld it directly to my cowl and box it in, then weld the rest of the scoop to my hood. just a thought, when i get the hood ill play with it. and i dont think they repop the hood so i found a guy in washington who's shipping it to me for a whopping $140 haha, cheaper than most fiberglass or abs scoops

Bad pic but I stripped the frame and still have some trimming to do to get it to sit flat, might get some more done and more pics tomorrow

Well I'm hoping very little body work will be necessary, I'm not rushing it so I'll cut and fit until it sits perfect and then I'll start laying tacks all around it, but yes I've done hoods before and the key is to have the least amount of filler, so perfect metal work in other words
