Mustang Grande 1970 help

Can anybody tell me the purpose of those brackets. Drivers side trunk?

Just what I needed thanks. I quote:
I believe that is for some emissions equipment that was used on '70 Mustangs destined for California. Believe there was a different gas tank used as well.
