You know those little details that you don't necessarily notice right off the bat but you know something is different, the kind of stuff that makes a show car into a show winner, like those little touches that Foose is notable for. Not your typical lower the car and add big rims and Shelby Fiberglass kind of things that I already plan to do but stuff that is really the extra mile. I would love to not only here your thoughts but if you have before and/or after pics as well all the better. If it's an add on item then a good source for the parts is also appreciated.

Things I am currently considering prior to final paint prep on my car are as follows:

Shave door handles (who has a good remote kit)
Remove fender bolts, smoothen and hug up closer to body (requires re-chroming $$$$?)
Mold in body panels Front/rear valance, quarter panel extensions etc. (Pro's vs Con's in doing this????)
Electric windows (I hate to do this to only the front, does anyone make a rear kit for a 69?)
Shaved tail lights (I have seen this look sweet on a 68 but not sure how it would look on a 69 or even how to go about it for that matter?)
Relocate the antenna to the rear driver side
Custom billet style grill (home made as no one seems to make one)
Custom interior elements (still being determined, I am looking into a custom brushed aluminum on dash areas ala 67' deluxe)

So what have you all got up your sleeve that you care to share or comments/advice/tips on any of the above that I can use, Photochops also welcome.

Thanks,
Pak.

What do you mean by shaved tail lights?

I like the 67 deluxe type dash, I always though if I had a 69 I'd like to try something like that.

What about taking the front bumper in a bit so it doesn't stick out as far on the sides? I think foose did that on an episode of overhaulin'

whatever happens I'm sure it will look amazing, have you decided on a color?

I am currently leaning towards the New 06' Tungsten Gray for the color or something with a graphite/Gunmetal kind of look, should look nice with 17" Billet Magnum rims!

Bumper mods are on the list, the rear antenna is exactly as on a 69' Shelby vert, looks great I think.

I have gotten lots of good feedback and ideas at Stangnet so far, here's a link if anyone is interested or has additional comments.

Thanks Boys.

I wouldn't worry about the $ involved in rechroming. That shouldn't be too pricey ($100 per bumper?) when compared to the work it'd take to snug it to the body. Great idea by the way. I wish it's something I could've done before paint. I'd still like to do that.

You'd think with all the custom work outy there that someone would already offer a repro bumper with out the bolts and ready to go, sheesh. I plan to check on local rechrome prices this week. I will probably just by repros for now and then fool around with old ones until I can get them just right, then I'll swap and sell off the new repros.

Well, we'll see if their is any insurance money left once I'm done making it look like a car again. No plans at this particular time. With barely 50k original miles on it and a nice cam, manifold, carb, hedders and 9 to 1 compression, it sucks up enough gas as it is and leaves a big enough grin on my face at WOT. Maybe I will consider stroking it later down the road one day (or store it and go crate motor) but I have so much other money to spend that I just can't see tearing into it when it's perfectly good.

Yeah, but like all good ideas how the heck do you get it off the ground? Naturally I'd have to start with the higher demand market of 65 and 66 too.

Hmm, maybe I can use some of the digitizing software we have at work to do a 3 dimensional scan of a bumper and take it to Asia with me on my next trip, then all I have to do is find a vendor that can do this stuff. Of course flipping thru the Asian yellow pages isn't all that easy.

Actually, since you put it that way, it sounds quite doable. You can't tell me there isn't an interpretor that wouldn't do a little freelance yellow pages browsing for you for a new pair of Levis or something.

Yeah that's true, I can speak it fine but reading and writing will likely never happen for me. Heck for genuine Levi's I can probably get their first born too.

Ok, you talked me into it Blake, send me your bumpers and I'll start scanning them.

pake, when you relocate the antenna to the rear you should go with a power antenna as well.

Yeah I've heard that from others too, why though? The Shelby didn't. My original antenna broke last year and I already had bought a new stock one, it was cheap enough I guess, but I could install it for now and change to power pretty much anytime, right?

Why not eliminate the antenna all together? Go with the hidden antenna from - http://www.roddoors.com/sounds.html - That way you can fill and smooth the hole.

LOL, you don't want my wonky old repros.

That's what I did, but I didn't bother with a new antenna. CD's only for me.

how about some custom work around the headlights, maybe make a 70 type bar that covers the opening or maybe tub it out and put some fat wheels in the back

yeah you could install one anytime. but you can get some pretty good ones at autozone or someplace for about ~50 bucks. i just think the power antennas are cooler than the stock aerial is all, somthing about them lowering into the body and disappearing. they also look awesom when they are frenched too, but that may be a bit much on an otherwise stock car with just some bolt ons.
