First, take a look at the new buyers guide from the FAQ above. There are some other links that will be helpful in there too.

I'm not sure what you mean about "what to look for". Do you mean body styles? Engines? What?

Where to look? Autotrader, local paper, etc. Never buy a car that you or someone knowledgeable with them can look at personally. Too much can be hidden in pictures.

Price will vary depending on options, body style, modifications, etc. A coupe will be the cheapest of the body styles ($3000-$8000 for an average to nice driver) with fastback and convertible running considerable more($8000-25000).

Thanks for the info. I have check out the buyers guide good info. I have found a '65 caspian blue with white vinyl top for 5200. I think they are a little high on price. Car looks staight and very little rust. Interior needs work no seat belts, no power steering or brakes. A 302 was put in a few years back. Car has been garage kept. I was thinking if I could get in around 4000 it might be worth my time. I would of course let a mustang expert check it out before buying. Here is a pic I hope it works.

Thanks for the advice. I have been reading this site for awhile and you guys are great.

Careful. Vinyl tops can get pin holes and trap water against naked metal underneath.

Caspian blue is a pretty color. Our first 'stang was Caspian blue.

Anytime you think there is "very little rust" be very careful and think again. See my contribution to the buyers guide as reference. The cowl can hide alot. Also, stay away from any car that has had undercoat put on as that usually hides rust.

Thanks for the responses. I have seen what rust can do first hand so I will be careful. If I find a car I like and buy it I will certainly let you all know. If you guys hear of a nice let me know. kpurdom@mtsu.edu.
