New member!!!!

This is my 1966 Mustang Convertible that I recently inherited from my dad. Had to have it transported from New Hampshire down to the Florida Panhandle. What an experience that was. For the most part it is in pretty good shape. Dad had been pretty sick for the past 5 years so she pretty much was parked in the garage for the entire time. 89,425 miles.
Looking forward to some good times getting her back in shape. She is road worthy as we have already driver her to work a couple of times.
I will be on the board asking many questions, as you will see in my next post.

John & Diane

My car is a 1970 Coupe. 302 .40 overbore, cammed, oversized ports and valves, desert radiator(runs 140 deg when its 110 outside), Edelbrock 650 carb, K&N, custom exhaust. My father and I built it from its rusted out state to what it is now. Its not show quality and has suffered a lot of rock chips and other paint issues but it will be nice some day. As I said in the into section, I rode home from the hospital in this car as a baby and would get driven around in it to put me to sleep as a baby. I got it for my 16th birthday but didn't get to drive it till after I was 18 due to all the work.

MY name is Terry Campbell and live in Celina, Tennessee. Recently retired from Fish and Wildlife service. I bought my 65 Fastback in 1966 after I graduated from college. It is the first car I EVER owned. I courted in it, got married in it, and brought all my kids home from the hospital in it after their births. It is the only thing I ever had that people wanted. I am just about through with completely restoring it to original condition. I look forward to getting a lot of help from more knowledgeable mustang owners on this excellent website. Thank you very much. TC

My name is Terry as well. I recently became the proud owner of a 1970 302 coupe. This was an unexpected homecoming gift from my wife as I am currently deployed to Afghanistan as a member of the Army National Guard. I've only seen pictures to this point, but sure am looking forward to driving it upon my return.

The car is in pretty good shape and seems to only need some minor body repair. It does appear to have a touch of surface rust to the back quarters and thus my seeking advise of this group.

If it needs paint I am strongly considering something to add a touch of spice such as a stripe up the hood to the trunk or something of that nature. I prefer a conservative look with just enough flare to make someone notice the extra touch.

What I'm not sure of is, what extra touch like that was consistent with a standard coupe? I know that the Boss series and the Mach series had defining characteristics in the paint, and don't want to mimic that style with a car that is in another classification.

You assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Terry

I really like the look of this paint job. Mine is the same make/model. My question to you is, would the cowl hood and paired stripes be consistent with a standard 70 model?

Again, great looking car.

I'll be totally honest to you....I have no idea. I bought it recently just as it sits. I wouldn't change a thing, I bought it 10 minutes after I saw her.

The paint job was a frame off and is totally beautiful in person. It's like a stop light to everyone that see's her. The stripes are painted in and took about 20 hours of buffing. They look perfect. I've never had a car, even new ones, that the paint job was so perfect.

Well, it sure looks beautiful. I've only seen pictures of mine as my wife bought it for me as a welcome home present for my return from deployment.
