Just wanted to drop in and say howdy. Also, i broke a u-joint the other day. I have never replaced one before. What is involved in putting one in?

Howdy Chris! Welcome aboard.
Good lookin' coupe you have there. U-joint replacement is a piece of cake. I'd suggest you pick up a manual that will cover that and tons of other handy stuff. The Ford shop manual (while expensive) would be a great investment. That said, I haven't forked over the dough for it. :P I've gotten by the hard way: a couple crappy haynes/chiltons manuals, and more than a decade of trial and error.
