Me be that lucky? Nah. I checked the VIN. Not it. Trust me, if it was, I'd be putting it back to original specs and whatnot. The emblems were on the car when I bought it. Never changed them because I'm lazy. And why not be like every other cornfed punk in this town and let my badges lie for me? Anyway.

Thanks for the tips guys! I appreciate them.

My car is now back at my parent's house. Being that the mechanic I have working on it doesn't just do restorations (he does EVERYTHING), he hasn't had the time to do much with it. So being as paranoid as I am, I took it home for awhile. Doing as much body work to it that I can so I can have it in primer by the time summer rolls around. I wish I could do more to it myself, but that's beyond smart to leave me to my own devices witha motor. But I still plan to have it primered with a fresh motor by summertime. Things are looking up for the poor thing. Well, uh, until now.

I'm in mid-move (to be more precise, mid-kicked-out-move) and can't get it to my new house because the god forsaken transmission won't come out of 2nd gear anymore. And it's a looooong way to be limping from old house to new. But it needs to be off my parents property ASAP. The transmission is a C4. Has some kind of shift kit in it (again, on the car when I bought it). Never had any trouble out of it until now. Any clue what could be causing this?

Is the TV cable hooked up? that thing tells it when to shift. Might want to check fluid also...

Renee, you can bring it to my house any time you want. I've even got plenty of extra rooms you can stay in darling. I'll get it fixed for you ASAP.

there is no shift kit in your car (I dont think)...Thats just the way C4s work. it sounds like you just lost 3rd gear.
