Who was it that was producing true HID headlights in 7" round to replace a 6014??? Anybody price them?

I've found some, but they don't look like they'd fit in the mustang bucket, as they're pretty deep?

What other headlight options are out there? My Tri-bars use H4 bulbs, so I know that I can upgrade to brighter bulbs easily that way, and I've already done the wiring harness/relays. The lights are pretty decent now, but after having the HID's in the Focus, what a WORLD of difference... :worship:

What you can buy is a replacement H4 setup for your Tri-bars. The catch is that there is now high and low beam yet in the budget area. I believe we will see some soon that have a motorized mask on the "bulb" that will shade some of the light source for low and open it fully for high.

I don't drive my car so I don't need lights ...

Actually I did grab some Silverstars for cheap, they don't seem like much of a real improvement over whatever H4 bulb I had in there before.

Here's the HID's I saw. Pricey, but it sounds like they are a true dual HID light...

Yup those are true dual but the size negates the use in our applications. Check eBay out for an H4 version, it's been a solid 6 months since I caught up on the topic.

$350 per side? Unfreakinbelievable.

Sorry, even if I had that kinda cash, I wouldn't throw it at headlights.

I stand corrected. Looks like they are just using two bulbs now to offer the Hi/Lo in one unit:

And you can get the H4/9003 interchange for around $285 now

i am not sure but i have heard that Xenon and HID are the same thing but i might be wrong... anyways California Mustang sells Xenon headlamps, which are supose to be 50% brighter then halogen, for $69.95 a pair!

Xenon does not equal HID.

Confusing the issue more, here is a note on one of those eBay kits:

(Note: our H4 kit is hi beam with halogen and lo beam with 8000K hid)

A lot of the vendors seem to cloud HID & xenon together. Not at all the same thing. I had the "hyperwhite xenon bulbs in my other car, then got a set of true HID's. The difference is incredible...

Goof Information Here - xenon vs HID is about 1/4 of the way down the page:

What is the difference between Xenon/HID systems and conventional halogen systems?

Xenon/HID systems use different principles in the creation of light than halogen. HID bulbs contain a small capsule with a mixture of xenon gas and halide salts that aid in the creation of a powerful light source that is generally 3 times brighter than halogen bulbs. Halogen bulbs use a filament that creates light from basic ohmic resistance across a filament. While halogen bulbs runs directly from the cars 12V system, HID bulbs require a complex ballast that can supply accurate high voltage.
