I've been out of the market for a while and I know pricing can be subjective but here goes:

I'm looking at a 69 Fastback rolling chasis. I don't have the VIN but it was originally equipped with a 302, C4, and 8 inch rear (the rear is still there).

Body is solid as are frame rails and truck area but has surface imperfections and various layers of primer, probably needs one rear lower quarter. Interior is in pieces, and will probably need one floor pan otherwise solid.

Engine bay is actually pretty clean. Anyway KBB and NADA are not much help.

So, any educated guesses as to a fair price for this 69 Fastback rolling chasis?

Thanks in advance! This is a great forum.

Well, it sounds like a great find, I beleive in shooting low, so I would offer 500.00, and see how much he actually wants to move the car.

From youre description this will be a hobby project, so getting in right will make it all the more enjoyable to restore...my .02..

Could you find the VIN? I sold my 69 fastback to a guy in MD a number of years ago, and I'm just curious.

Heck in Maryland it could be one of 6 Fastbacks I used to own!

If you don't mind...what area is the car/you located. You aren't buying it from Mike's Mustangs are you?

I used to live in Annapolis up until 3 years ago.

Price....they go for a lot on Ebay and around...Fastbacks are very desireable. Just for a complete car sans engine that is restorable it could range from $1500 for a deal upwards of $5000.....67 and 68's are downright stupid in price thanks to Gone in 60 Seconds.

The car is located in PA, private owner. The guy who has it now bought it for the 390 and 9 inch rear the previous owner had installed. He's putting them back in their rightful owner, a '68 Fastback he's restoring.

If I get the deal done, I'll post the VIN and pics.

svopaul, I grew up in Annapolis , but I can't afford to live there now! I'm on Kent Island, just across the Bay.

Thanks for the input.

Paul was right, the guy wants 4K. That's a bit more than I wanted to pay for a rolling chasis project car. But as someone on another thread pointed out, Mustang prices are getting ridiculous...even for coupes much less fastbacks!

It looks like I'll be putting the cash I had set aside for that project into the '06 GT account. The '98 Coupe goes into the garage to be spruced up for my son->

I'll restore an old Coke machine I picked up instead.

Thanks again!

Here's a nice little hobby car I just heard about that could use some TLC. Don't know what the price is but it probably isn't all that far off from the one you looked at and seems to be way more complete and probably even runs OK as is. Anyway, FWIW I thought I'd psot the info for you.

I paid my '69 Mach1 $10000 cdn, it had the rebuid 351W, it was completely taken apart, it had new sheet metals all aroud ready for paint, very straight body, already sand blasted......that's my project right now, going for paint in a month or so....still haven't decided on the color yet...... :bang: but thinking about silver jade metallic or acapulco blue.....so if anyone has good pics of either color, i would appreciate posting them for me...Thanks...

Sorry I didn't help much there!

I've always liked Acapulco Blue too. My '69 was repainted to Grabber Blue w/white stripes. I was younger then and liked bright colors. I like the darker metallics now, hoping to get a Redfire '06.

Nice car btw.
