help chosing a carb

im trying to pick out a carburettor from summit racing.
all of them are either electric or manual choke.
i need a vacuum choke.
it says secondary type: vacuum.
does that mean you can do either or?

if i remember correctly you have the 289 engine .. get a 600 cfm edelbrock carb from summitt with the electric choke and you will be happy .. the electric choke is 50 bucks more but well worth it .. i hate my manual choke

This.

And where it says secondary type: vacuum. is not about the choke, it means that the secondaries (back two barrels of the carb) open up off of vacuum, unlike a double pumper which has mechanical secondaries.

Electric choke would eliminate the need to run a choke cable into the car, and vacuum secondary refers to the rear throttle plates, on how they open. Most street cars come factory with vacuum secondarys, mechanical secondarys would be found on a double pumper.
