Headlights blinking on and off?

my headlights r trippin out. I hear a tiny click and they flash on and off and will not stay on the flashing is constant no matter if i turn the hightbeams on or not. I wiggle the switch and nothing..
just a constant on off on off...???

You will probably need a new headlight switch. What you hear is the built in circut breaker clicking. That is unless you have a short somewhere. Do all the lights work when they come on? tail lights too?

all the lights work fine just the headlights go on and off........taillights r fine

Real good chance it is the headlight switch, that's where I'd start...

Just had to post this, i went to a mustang parts dealer and asked him for a headlight switch 4 my 65, he gave me a used one and said thats all he had..I said ok great how much?
He looks at me and says 100 bucks..
I almost choked laughed at him and then went home and got on ebay and bought a brand new one for 22 bucks..sheesh people really got nerve...

I would definitely try a new headlight switch. About a year ago my headlights started going off and on while I was driving down the interstate I stopped and checked everything for a short, but nothing helped. I had to have the car to drive at the time so I orderd a switch from Napa..didn't cost much and it fixed the problem.

Are your headlights the stock tungsten units or halogens? Halogens draw more current than the stockers which will cause the headlamp switch breaker to trip, the way around this is to fit relays

yeah the headlights r stock and ordered the switch waiting for it to arrive..22 bucks ebay

i had the same problem, but mine was my halogens...doesnt seem to be the prob for you thou. but just in case...if the switch doesnt help it, you might wanna check ou the alt...that was the problem on mine...not enough power AND it was going bad.
