Head removal

Am workin on pullin my heads as one has an exterior crack leaking coolant. I have called it a night after getting the manifold off. Quick question. To get the heads off do I need to pull the water pump? I was able to get the intake off without having to pull the distributor.

Thanks
Les

Valve covers intake exhaust and any accessory that may bolt to front of head.
