Thumbs up

I have a 66 Mustang with messed up exhaust pipe run and want it done right. I see on page 101 of a NPD catalog you can buy a complete set up H pipes, hangers, and all. The question I have is that I want to use my 40's series flow Masters with this set up instead of the standard mufflers they provide with the kit. Can it be used since it's a centered inlet and staggered outlet? The diagram shows it all a center straight line and it's not bending over the rear end. It passes straight back with resonators followed by the GT trumpet tips.

I don't want to order this set up and it not even work with my flows. I can't live with out the flow master sound . I also want to know is the resonators are even needed here? Hopefully I can find a competent exhaust shop that can even get this stuff to work.

An exhaust shop can make them fit. You'll have to take those pipes there anyway since they are not exactly "bolt on". They will, more than likely, require some tweeking to get them to fit.

catalog setups are usually ill-fitting, and you'll have to take the JungleGym to a shop to get it on anyway. I recommend taking your headers and mufflers to a good shop and let them build the rest. You can show em just how you want it, and only pay for what you want. Prolly cheaper in the long run anyway, plus it gets you to know your local muffler shop You'll be back there for other work someday, might as well build a relationship now

Leave the catalog setups for concours people.

I agree, Lman. Good muffler shops rank up there with good glass people, good radiator people and so on. Always build a good rapport with them.

And, if you drop your car off in the AM, bring donuts.

Well I talked to my local exhaust shop and will be able to do everything around $200 from the manifold back except for the mufflers. But I will be providing those. Sounds like a deal.

Thanks for the advise guys.
