Engine block help
So i found that I had a valve cover gasket leak and that lead to finding rusty rocker arms, springs and push rods. After taking the heads off I found rust in the block and was wanting some suggestions on what I should do. Take it out and have it cleaned or just keep running it?

the dodge truck i once owned had a terrible case of that brown gunk in its engine .. i had the radiator cleaned and flushed it a few times and kept on trucking .. what year is your engine ? i see hold downs on the lifters for a roller cam .. just wipe out all the gunk from the holes that you can and take a good look at your radiator ...if you are concerned about the condition of the engine now would be a good time for a rebuild ...

Do it right and take it out and rebuild or find a 289 to build and put back in. Get a new radiator and heater core while your at it so the 'gunk' doesn't pollute your 'new' engine.

Get a Prestone Flush kit. Install the T. Plug the yellow "L" into the radiator. Hook a garden hose to the. Run cold out of the spigot of hook to the drain valve on your hot water heater. Turn on valve, water will shoot out of the "L" plugged into the radiator. it Might help. It is cheap to try
