Dumb Speedo Cable Question
Hi all--
Reworked my gauge cluster last night. Want to lube/inspect the cable while the cluster is out. Can I/Should I just pull the cable from the sheath from the top? Will it go back in to the gear at the bottom? (This is one of those things that seems too straightforward.)
Thanks!

You're testing my foggy memory on this one. It will pull out if you pull the gear from the transmission and unclip it. Then I seem to recall you can thread it out. But if you are going to that trouble I would put a new cable in there or completely remove the current cable and lube it well where you can hang it vertically and get the graphite in there good.
Honestly I've never seen a cable affecting the gauge (jumping, etc.) that was not damaged and in need of replacement as opposed to lubing...
