Doors hard to shut.

Hey guys so here is my problem. I replaced weatherstripping in my car around the doors. Now they have to be slammed shut to close them when before they closed easily. Is there a brake in person for the gaskets?

Chances are the striker bolts have been adjusted through the years. The bolts that the door latch catch on to. You can loosen the bolts and move them out a bit. Just make sure they are not too far out and the doors don't stick out farther than the body. In time the new stripping will loosen up a bit and you can adjust the strikers in a little more.

I had the same problem. Not all aftermarket weather strips are created equal. Mine wouldn't shut right until I got different ones. I used the expensive ones from NPD in the end. If you still have the originals, compare the ends that is where it is critical.

Also be 100% sure you have them on right. Here is a pic of my original. The elongated end goes to the front near the hinges. They also have to face the right direction.
