Difference between Shelby & normal 68 Stangs?

What makes a 58 Shelby different than a normal Stang, other than cosmetic mods? Were any of Shelby's original handling mods kept til 68?

Obviously. I was thinking more along the lines of 'Monte Carlo bar,' 'Koni shocks,' 'relocated control arms,' etc.
