I have a 1970 Mach 1 with vermillion red interior. I need to replace the red deluxe Mach 1 door panels, but I am having a hard time finding any. Any ideas? Is there someone that repairs them? I need to keep the interior original as that color combination of red on red is fairly rare that year.

Have you checked all the mustang parts catalogs? I beleive I have seen them in CJ pony parts catalog. I will check some of my catalogs. I have also seen these on ebay occasionally.

Maybe use vinyl die on different color panels?

As promised I checked in CJ's catalog and they have the 69/70 deluxe/machI door panels for 289.95 but they do not have red. As suggested above you might need to get a different color and dye them to match.

Mustangs Unlimited has the door panels in maroon for 299.95 a pair. Not sure if that would match or not.

Hope that helps

Thanks , but it still seems as though I can only find white and black. Hoping to find vermillion red or someone that repairs them. I have gone the dye route before and was not very happy with the results over time.

Can you be more specifc as to what you mean by "repairs"? Maybe there is a DIY solution for you.

Also, vinyl dyes have improved over the last few years and with the proper prep they can actually be wuite durable, just FYI.

Thanks bnickle. I do have the 05 Mustang Unlimited catalog. I do not know how I missed it. Now I have some more questions. My interior code is vermillion. The new seats are called vermillion in the catalog. But they are calling the deluxe door panels bright red. I need to know if they are correct. Another problem is that my originals have black carpet on the bottom instead of red. Sounds like I have a decision to make. Does anyone know if bright red and vermillion are the same that year?

Back when I read classic Mustang magazines, they did a lot of articles with a company called Just Dashes. They apparently did some great work on door panels including repairing them and dyeing them.
