Thumbs up

Has anyone added to their automatic transmission an extra capacity fluid pan? Was wondering if it's worth the extra cash to replace the original pan with a larger pan to help cool and extend the life of the fluid. I just drive the car (289 w/ a c4) on the weekends, but I like to keep the stang running at it's best. Love to hear everyone's opinion.

I have been building Ford transmissions since 1974. I do not use coolers or extra capacity pans. If the car is running hot, add a cooler in series or fix the overheating problem. The stock radiator cooler is fine for normal use. If you are towing, change the cam, race or are a hard driver, the external cooler may help somewhat. The deep pans are for racing cars. They need the extra fluid. The deep pan also reduces ground clearance quite a bit. Just my opinion.
