Carb Spacer?

I've been thinking about getting one for a while cause I heared that they add horsepower by tricking your engine into thinking you have a high rise intake...but I guess my question is...is it worth it?....they are a little less than $50...but how many horsepower do they really add....5?...I was thinking about a 1 inch....I already have the Edelbrock intake and carb. Also...how hard is it to install....I'm guessing not hard. Thanks.

for fuel injection engines they will do nothing for carbed engines they are supose to add a few hp. Very easy to install. unbolt the carb slap that baby in there with a gasket and bolt the carb back up.

I was going to add one to my windsor ( I heard up to 15hp on very high RPM applications but about 5 under regular use. I ended up not using it because i didn't have enough hood clearance. not only are the good for better atomization of the fuel but they also insulate your carb from your engines heat which keeps your fuel from boiling. They look real mean on a ford small block, but what is also good is a heat shield it gives you some hight and there are several metal plates and gaskets that bolt under the actual shield that really insulate your carb. but I would look into it.
Some people also just bolt it on. but I prefer studs they line everything up it makes things easiar I think. I hope i helped

You will also need longer carb studs to go with the spacer.
