Camshaft 69

Hi everyone... Im thinking about putting a new camshaft on my 302... dont want to spend too much since I am only doing it for the sound...
Are summit cams good?

summitt brand cams are junk ... they are rejects of every cam they sell .. buy a name brand cam from summitt .. crane or comp cams ..

Summit cams are pretty good, last I heard they were produced by edelbrock.

I just bought a Comp cams kit for a 289. It included almost everything necessary to install it properly: cam, lifters, springs, retainers, keepers, valve stem seals, and timing kit. Still have to determine proper length and purchase pushrods. Many have made the mistake of purchasing cams without any regard to the adjoining components.

My grandfather has found that out, I think it took him 3-4 sets of push rods to get the correct setup.

If i am not looking for improvement in performance, do i still have to change all of that?

You would most likely have to get your current cam custom ground for the sound to get no gain in performance.
