C6 in a 65' Mustang?
I recently bought a '65 Mustang with a broken 289ci; I have switched the engine to a '92 roller 5.0 and it's working fine, but, I was told that there was C6 already installed in the car. Indeed, is not a C4 and I think is not a Cruise-o-matic. I just installed a B&M shifter, which fitted perfectly using the C6 set up, but fr my surprise, I have no 1rst gear!...there is Parking-Reverse-Neutral-Neutral-Drive-Second...I've stend 2 days repeating the set up and checked the gears manually on the transmission lever by hand and no, I just got 2 foward gears....any advice of what's going on?

Moving to '1st and 2nd Generation' section, but will leave a link for today.
As far as if you have a C6 . . .
How many bolts on the oil pan (17=C6, 11=C4) and is the transmission and bellhousing one complete unit? A C6 is a one piece unit . . . if memory serves.

it`s not likely we can tell you what has gone wrong .. you simply need to have a mechanic look at it .. it is also not likely you`d have a C6 ..perhaps an FMX .. but stranger things have happened .. its` odd you have 2 neutrals .. with the trans in drive it should take off in low ..

I take off in low and 2 automatic shift happen properly, so, I have 3 speeds. But still, neutral us neutral, and drive, still neutral, and only 2 shift down remain. We haven't open yet the tranny, but we suspect a broken leveles or wrong valve body selector shaft. Other than this, the transmission work perfectly...any more toughts?
