Broken manifold / head on 66 I6

Was putting new headers on my 66 inline 6. pre setting the studs when just about had the end one in and snaped this piece off the head.
What do I do now?
I hope the answer is not replace the head.
the broken one is on the front of the block, here is a shot of the one on the rear sitll intact. Am I F*****?

You got some responses back at the fordsix forum- brazing seems to be the top pic I think I have also heard of maybe using J&B weld type stuff.

JB weld might work, maybe even some light real welds on the outside?

I don't think that little bit will warrant a new head..

A very good welder might be able to weld that, just dont take it to just anyone. If you have an older guy who has alot of experience they will do it right probably. The cast iron needs to be heated to cherry red and then welded fast and then cool down. Or at least what I have been told. JB weld is good stuff but I would shoot for the weld first then if not JB weld it.

oh please! Any of those who reply to use jb weld just do not have a clue. WELD IT! The best would be to use a puddle torch with powder. The second best would be tig it. Looks like one I would tackle. Cast is a different beast, but only those with the lack of skill or knowledge would say jb weld.

what is the resolution ? have you fixed it ? i`d weld it back and not torque the bolt as tite as required .. the bottem bolt can hold as tightly as needed .. or perhaps weld a stud in place at the same time you are welding the broken piece back ..

Read on another thread / forum, where a guy just left it alone, So thats where I am, found a machine shop that will weld it but it is 20+ miles away ( I live in the country ).
The worst I think I will do is blow the exhaust gasket out ($9) . so tightened it up and will let er rip. If it holds, I won't worry, if it blows then I will have it welded, but have to drive it up to the shop. Did not feel like trying to drive it with open heads anyways.
Here is a few shots of the new heads installed.
