Brake Drum Sizes for 1967 Coupe

I am restoring a 1967 coupe (six cylinder, automatic). According to the VIN, it has always been a six cylinder, but it has 10" (5 bolt) drums on the back, and 9" (four bolt) drums on the front. Standard rims are mounted on the rear, but some really ugly, ancient four-lug custom wheels are mounted on the front. I'm under the impression that a six-cylinder coupe would have had 9" drums all the way around originally (even though I have found some evidence suggesting this was not always the case). So here's the deal: Is there any reason I can't replace the front drums with ten-inch, five-bolt drums to match the back? Historical accuracy notwithstanding, it will be less expensive for me to do this because 1) I will have fewer rims to buy (including spare, which I am missing): three 10", five-bolt rims versus five 9", four-bolt rims, and 2) the ten inch drums are less expensive on the sites I've looked at. Incidentally, my research has also led me to believe such a "conversion" would be fairly easily because on a '67 coupe the spindles for 10" and 9" drums were the same size. Can anybody provide some insight?

Just do a 5 lug disc brake conversion for the front. There is no diffference in the suspension or steering components of the car. So a V8 disc brake setup would bolt right up to your I6 spindles.
