So today like an idiot I forgot I had my battery charger connected to the car and went to fire her up. When I did it, it just clicked once and the indoor light went off from the door. Any idea what I did to the car? I cant start it at all.

 

Many questions for you
1) Did the light turn back on after you tried to start it?
2) Did you disconnect the battery charger and try again?
3) Does the car do anything when you try to start it now...such as click, or turn over but not start?

3. Nope, nothing.

 

Either you have a bad battery, or you blew a fuse somewhere. Most likely a fuse. Does the battery charger indicate the battery is fully charged?

 

Yep, it has the full green light.

 

Most likely a fuse then. Check the fuse box and look for any that are blown. I'm not familiar with the older 'stangs, but there is probably a legend or key on the fuse box somewhere telling you what fuse does what.

are your battery terminals clean?? When you turn your headlights on do they seem to normaly bright or some what dim?

 

A blown fuse shouldnt have affected the car's ability to crank over. Check the ground cables too?

 

Thanks for the help. Wow, I feel like an idiot. This morning I just unplugged the battery and reattached it and the car worked fine. I must of been really tired last night when working on the car.
