Hi all--

Since my 66 is a daily driver, the seats are finally starting to bother an old back injury. I've read somewhere that the highback buckets will fit into a 66 with no mods. Anyone running these? Can you post a pic so I can see how they look?

On a side note, has anyone jumped on the new setup that uses 65/66 existing frames and adds new foam/covers for a pony looking seat that is supposedly more comfortable? I think that they were at VA Mustang.

Thanks!

I don't have 69-70 seats, but I do have 98 Mustang seats that are very comfortable. I'm pretty sure any Ford bucket seat will fit as long as you use your origanal tracks. All it took to make mine fit was bolting the tracks on to the front hole and drilling new rear holes and bolting them in, a very easy swap. I had mine recovered to match the 65 pattern, and think it came out looking good. My photo host page is down right now, but I can post some pics of them installed when it come back online.

R--Great! If I can ask, ballpark, what did the seats run you?

Do you have a console between the two 98's? I have one and I'm worried that some seats may be too wide for the console.

Ah, to be a kid again and not have to worry if the seats will bother your back!

I got the seats from a wrecking yard for $150 if I remember right. Then it ran me around $400 to have them and the rear seats covered.

Yes, I have a custom console thats just a tad wider then a factory console.

Picturetrail.com is still down, but I'll post a pic as soon as they fix thier problems.

Ronnie--Those look excellent! May have to start prowling the wrecking yards to see what I can find. . . .

Thanks for your help--I appreciate it!

Not exactly what your looking for but I have 69 mach 1 highbacks in my 67 fastback front and rear fit perfectly. I'm not sure about the back seats in a 66, but I know the front will fit.

I have 70 Mach 1 front bucket seats in my 66 fastback. It looks good. I bought it this way, but it doesn't have any frame rails installed.

Sorry, meant to say seat tracks. No, they don't move. They seem to be bolted straight to the seat pans. My car is a restoration project that doesn't run, so at the moment it isn't a problem. I will eventually put some seat tracks back in.

hey Scotty, great to see you here

..a seat swap idea Ive always liked is the 90-93 T-Bird Super Coupe seats...great power side support, power lumbar, and usually cheap from salvage yards, classifieds, etc.
