I did that on my 65 coupe. I put stock manifolds on my 302. So I just got that first piece of exhaust from a 302 in the junk yard. Not sure which engine is in his car but he could probably do the same.

He has a 302 with a stock manifold. Do the pipes need to be bent? Or could he get straight pipes and bend them hisself?

They will have to be bent at I believe about a 45 degree angle at the bottom of the frame. And there will have to be a bend to get around the rear axle. That should be it. I ran a side pipe on my car. I got my first piece of pipe off an old truck in the junk yard.
