Hi All, I recently bought a triple black 65 convertible. It is a 289, 4sp, A/C, and power steering, and is in pretty nice shape. I would like to do some minor upgrades as time goes on, and was first curious for info regarding upgrading the alternator. In my garage, I have a 130 Amp alternator from a 94 stang that I previously used in my 87 tbird turbo coupe. It looks like it will physically fit (of course the pulley will have to change) on the 65. Of course it has a built in regulator. Are there any websites that show how to rewire for such upgrades (the 65 has an external voltage regulator, which I guess gets bypassed?) Also, what about running an electric cooling fan instead of the fan on the water pump (or is just a bigger shroud - like 4 inches - a cheaper alternative)? Any other minor recommendations anyone can make are greatly appreciated. I also have a 2005 mustang GT (silver) which is my daily driver. Thanks, Eric

Spal fan is an excellent electric fan and I did the 130 powermaster alternator which was fairly easy install. I made a custom shroud for the electric fan. You can buy their install kit but I did not like how if looked. I used aluminum 1/8 stock and had it bent to fit around the radiator. The clearance issue between the fan and the waterpump is ~1/16" but others have said the same and it wasn't an issue for them.

Here's the pics...
