69 Vert Resto. Started

Well I have finally started the restoration of my 69 Vert. I have started a thread on a different forum. Here's the link if your interested. I thought about posting a new thread here but why waste bandwidth here. If anyone is interested I can post here as well.
I'm still on the fence about what motor to go with. Leaning toward rebuilding the original 351.

Well I haven't posted here in a loooooooooooooooong time !! In that time I've been very busy. The vert is almost done. I decided on the restomod way to go. Every panel on the body is new other than the passenger side fender. All new inner fenders and floor boards as well as trunk floors and tail light panel.
As for the engine, well she now sports a BOSS 351 ! Filled with a Ford racing cam. Keith Black pistons, stayed with the original crank but all is new except the block which was magnafluxed and bored .30 over.MSD electronic dist. and petronix flame thrower coil. ARP head bolts and a whole buch of other goodies. I haven't Dyno'd yet but the machine shop figures its good for 450hp +/-, depending on the carb setup.
All the suspension is new. 620 1" drop springs,Shelby UCA drop, KYB gas shocks. 1 1/8" sway bars, melodyne bushings. And to make it steer nicely I install a Randall's Rack and Pinion power rack.
I painted the car the original Acapoulco blue.
I still have a ways to go before its 100% done. I Have a Mach1 hood scoop to go on and Im gonna paint the hood black with blue pearl (Mach 1 style). I have new 17" ION wheels and Goodyear Eagle GT's to go her when all the painting is complete.
Here are just a few pics.....

My first Mustang was a '69. Every time I see one it makes me smile. Thanks for restoring and rebuilding this one!

Ya, I thought it would take about 6 - 8 months .... Im now into year #2 ... As for the cost...I don't even want to go there !!!
But these cars are an investment as well as a passion. Their value does not diminish over time. So I figure if I'm gonna do it I may as well do it right. I still have a few more small things to do and next winter I plan on doing the interior....Once I pay off the Visa

You should take a look at Montreal Ponies car. He did a ground up resto on a 69 Mach 1.

Well I haven't posted in a while but I have got some things completed. I finally got the hood and scoop painted and the scoop installed. I have not yet received the 351 emblems for the hood scoop so for now I have just put on some Cobra emblems. Once the 351 emblems show up I will swap them out.
The hood and scoop are painted black with sapphire blue pearl. You can really see the pearl in the camera flash pic. It came out very nice. I got the signal lights wired and everything works great.
