68 Coupe Vin Help

I just finalized a deal on a 68 Mustang Coupe, getting delivered next week. He is going to have a look for the data plate as it is missing. He could not find the VIN but I did a quick search and read it is sometimes covered by the dash PADs on 68s. They have a clean title but the VIN has a Z code. (Hazelwood Missouri) I can't find a reference to indicated that Mustangs were assembled in Hazelwood. Hoping the VIN and Data plates show up. Can any one confirm the VIN 8Z01C123456. Once I actually have the car in my possession I can post the actual sequence #.

Format seems okay, but can't find anything on the St Louis manufacture location for 1968 Mustang. Other models, but no Mustang. Checked my books too, and no mention of Mustangs being built in St. Louis. Sorry not much help here.
