It's gettin close I think...........Classic Recreations has has some turn over with their body work guys. My car is still sittin in the metal work building and I was assurred they would start the body work within two weeks. Once that's done we will be ready for paint. I hope I have pics to post soon.

I can't wait to see what the car looks like...although it wouldn't be that hard to imagine. Anyway, either a 68 or 08 Bullitt are among my dream cars and your project is freakin' sweet.

Can't wait to see it

Body work is within a week or so away ((I know, I've been saying that since Feb), so I got a little motivated. I started painting the Torq Thrust wheels. The gray spokes are way to light, so I experimented with one wheel and loved the outcome, so I'm painting the rest with Eastwood's charcoal gray wheel paint.

Just saw the car today when I went in to pay for my wiring harness and some other parts I had ordered from the shop. We went over every detail in reference to the body work, where they would patch things, which emblem holes would be completely filled in, etc. Body work WILL be started soon, then paint. It's been a long time.

Those rims look much better! The light gray spokes just don't look right and doesn't match those of the movie.

Does that mean I can send you the next invoice?

I was at the shop last week and they did replace one quarter panel and were working on the front frame rails. I forgot my camera and took cell phone pics, but they suck. I'm going back this week with my good camera in hand and promise to post some pics.

It's a deal, if you don't mind leaving the car with me for one month per summer!

I'm just jealous because I can't find a worthwhile candidate to do exactly what you are doing.

Looking forward to seeing the progress.

I'd just be happy with a nice '68 fastback, let alone a Bullitt car clone.

Hasn't been painful or at all. Expensive, now that's a different story. Its been pretty fun though. Now in order for it to be painless and to ease the expenses you have to first of all be patient. I'm paying as I go, so it lessens the financial burden. Did I mention patience....ha ha. Notice I still haven't gottn any new pics up? It's because I've been patient with the shop that's doing the body work and paint. The shop is a solid shop, but in order to get the deal I'm getting, I had to agree to have my car placed on the back burner when they have to crank out some of the Shelby's.......that's what pays their bills and I understand that.

When it comes to buying the parts I found a way to ease the financial pain a little.........Zero Interest credit cards. Most of the card companies offer zero percent for 12 or 18 months on your initial purchase. I have purchased some of my more expensive items from summit this way. gives me 12-18 months to pay it off instead of all at once. Just be sure to pay it off in time or the interest is retroactive.

It's been a good experience so far. And as soon as they get a chance to get going on it I'll post pics. I know I've said that before.......just remember patience..............

Ok, finally we are making progress. Metal work is just about done. Here are pics taken today. The pic of the three mustangs side by side are three future Shelby GT500CR's.
